This series is known for delivering on its premise and giving fans what they want: fast cars and furious action. Each movie features some of the best vehicles ever designed and manufactured. The Fast and Furious cars seen throughout the franchise are out of this world and vehicles most of us can only dream of ever driving.

Although the movie plots tend to be fairly predictable, no one knows what death-defying stunts will be shown or what cars will feature in these stunts, which makes these movies must-watch. Without the cars, the Fast and Furious franchise wouldn’t be nearly as attention-worthy. Let’s face it, the actors play their part (Vin Diesel, The Rock, and Jason Statham, to name three), but it’s the cars that steal the show.

Since there are so many amazing cars that have been featured in these movies over the past 20 years, it is incredibly challenging to narrow down the best of the best. Yet, we have somehow managed to do just that. While we might have missed out on a few of your favorites, such as the Mazda RX 7 from The Fast and the Furious and the Aston Martin DB9 driven by Owen Shaw in Furious 7, we think the list we’ve assembled is pretty tight.

So here are our picks for the 20 best cars from the Fast and Furious franchise.

20 Best Fast and Furious Cars Seen in the Franchise

1. 1970 Dodge Charger

1970 Dodge Charger

Our list wouldn’t mean much if we didn’t include Dominic Torreto’s 1970 Dodge Charger. This American muscle car is at the heart of the series and arguably the most iconic car driven by Torreto. Much of Torreto’s character is based around him owning this muscle car and the history of what it represents to him and his father.

Dom’s Charger is a fan favorite and, as such, is featured in The Fast and the Furious, Fast and Furious, Fast Five, and Furious 7.

The 1970 Dodge Charger featured in the first film is equipped with a custom engine that can reach an incredible horsepower rating of 900. Under the hood, there is a pro-built 528 cubic inch Chrysler Hemi engine with aluminum Indy competition cylinder heads.

Perhaps its most distinguishable feature is its electronic fuel injection, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and NOS HP plate nitrous injection system. In addition to these exemplary features, the 1970 Dodge Charger can race the quarter-mile in less than nine seconds.

2. Toyota Supra

Rakhmat Darmawan/Shutterstock

If you’re a car enthusiast you know all about this beast from the Fast Furious franchise. One of the most recognizable tuner cars from the series is Brian O’Conner’s bright orange Toyota Supra. In The Fast and the Furious, O’Conner brings the car back to life in Dominic Toretto’s garage, and this action plays an integral role in building a bond between the two main characters. The Supra even pops up in Fast Five and is driven by Roman Pierce (Tyrese Gibson) along with a lot of the crew while practicing driving for the bank heist.

The car proves its worth and solidifies its legendary status when seen racing and beating a Ferrari F355 Spider on its maiden drive. It’s believed that the original Toyota Supra Mk-IV, which is equipped with the 2JZ engine, could produce a horsepower rating of 540.

Interestingly this car could reach 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds and its top speed could reach 186 mph when the NOS system was equipped.

3. Acura NSX

Acura NSX
Ritu Manoj Jethani/Shutterstock

The Honda Acura NSX is iconically driven by Dominic Toretto’s sister Mia in Fast and Furious and Fast Five. This vehicle is rear-wheel-drive with a six-speed manual transmission that has stylish red leather seats.

Fans fell in love with the Honda Acura NSX when it appeared as one of the vehicles rescuing Dom after being sentenced to 25 years in prison during the Fast and Furious movie. Curiously, the Honda Acura NSX’s stock configuration is powered by an impressive C32B V-6 engine capable of producing a horsepower rating of 290. What many people don’t know is that the Honda Acura NSXs used for the film are heavily modified. They are equipped with NSX-R suspension and other upgrades that boost its horsepower rating further.

4. Pontiac Fiero

I Love Film/YouTube

In the latest installment of the franchise, it can be said that the modified Pontiac Fiero steals the show. Although this classic car is not everyone’s cup of tea, it plays a significant role in the latest film. In fact, the 1984 Pontiac Fiero jet car is seen in one of the most heartwarming scenes during Fast 9

It is up to Roman and Tej to save the world when they have to use the Pontiac Fiero to drive into a satellite set to destroy the earth with nothing but their car. Taj and Roman are prepared to sacrifice themselves during this scene which is why it’s memorable.

However, many think the Pontiac Fiero is the most ridiculous car to be featured in one of the films of this franchise, but we’re of the opposite opinion. Although this vehicle is essentially a rocket with a classic car body attached to it, it’s still worthy of attention because of its uniqueness.

5. Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

Did you know that the Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R is the first skyline model to bear the GT-R badge? It’s no wonder this classic muscle car found its way into the Fast and Furious franchise.

Ironically, this car is driven by Brian after the memorable scene where he and Mia rescue Dom while he’s being taken to prison. Although the vehicle makes only a minor appearance during the Fast Five movie, it deserves to be on our list because due to its performance specifications.

This muscle car has a 2.0-liter DOHC straight-six engine which allows it to produce a horsepower rating of 160. Yet, the film’s version features a twin-cam 2.0-liter inline-six engine with rear drive. Additionally, this car has a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of more than 203 mph.

6. Honda S2000

SoCalSupercars/YouTube

Are you aware the Honda S2000 featured in The Fast and the Furious movie is rented from R.J. Vera, who played Danny Yamato? It is driven by Rick Yune who played baddie Johnny Tran in the film. This same car was purchased by David Marder for the film 2 Fast 2 Furious and repurposed for the character Suki.

Suki drives the bright pink Honda S2000 during a race hosted by Tej. For much of the scene, the Honda S2000 is in last place but manages to pull off a miracle during a jump scene that sees the vehicle coming in first.

The Honda S2000 features a set of custom hot pink vinyl. It is equipped with a 2.2-liter aluminum alloy DOHC inline 4 engine and has a Comptech supercharger. It can reach 174 mph and has a maximum horsepower output of 237.

7. Buick Grand National

Tony Savino/Shutterstock

The Buick Grand National features in the fourth Fast and Furious movie and is a custom build. This vehicle has a fully reversed drive train, which is why it could pull off the tanker truck scene so effortlessly.

During this scene, Dom can be seen driving the Buick Grand National in reverse while maintaining a high speed. He continues driving in reverse until the dramatic explosion at the end. Even though the vehicle looks normal on the outside, it is different on the inside from other Buick Grand Nationals.

The Buick Grand National seen in the film has its engine situated in the vehicle’s trunk, with the rear axle moved to under the hood by using custom tubed subframes. The modifications don’t end there. A new wheel and pedal were also installed for a stunt driver in the rear seat area.

8. Ford GT40

JoãoPMendonçaJR/YouTube

Did you know the Ford GT40 driven in Fast Five is not an actual Ford GT40 but a replica? The replica model features heavily during the film’s train heist scene at the movie’s start.

The Ford GT40 replica from the film was auctioned in 2016. It is a right-hand drive and features the signature Guardsman Blue and Wimbledon White exterior that car enthusiasts know and love. Additionally, this car is built on a custom chassis and has body panels made out of fiberglass.

The vehicle’s power made it a prominent focal point during the movie. It is equipped with a Ford 4.7 liter V8 engine that can deliver 540 horsepower. It has a five-speed manual transmission and can reach a top speed of approximately 164 mph.

9. 1967 Ford Mustang

1967 Ford Mustang

One of the most memorable cars from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is the 1967 Ford Mustang. Yet, were you aware that the 1967 Ford Mustang models in the Justin Lin directed Tokyo Drift were built using 1968 models?

This car is famous because of the scene where Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) drives it during his race with Takashi down a mountain he has never been beaten on. There are multiple close calls during this scene, but Sean manages to secure victory with the Mustang while Takashi doesn’t fare as well.

Another interesting aspect of the 1967 models is that it took the film’s production team an estimated two months to fit Nissan Skyline GT-R engines into them. Perhaps one of the most impressive things to note about the 1967 Ford Mustangs used in this film is that each of them survived without being destroyed during filming.

Moreover, it’s believed that five of the six 1967 Ford Mustangs used during the film were sold to buyers in California. These models had quite a few upgrades, including a rear roll cage, seven-spoke wheels, racing seats, and a front-mounted intercooler.

10. 2020 Jeep Gladiator

2020 Jeep Gladiator
Felix Mizioznikov/Shutterstock

In Fast 9, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator plays a prominent role in the movie. It is well known for being one of the most capable mid-size trucks globally, and it got promoted to one of the most iconic cars in the world after it became one of the Fast Furious movie cars

Tej Parker drives this vehicle during the scene where he and Ramsey flee the crash site of Mr. Nobody after they are ambushed by the military, who are guarding the area. Fans are on the very edges of their seats while the Jeep Gladiator is driven through a field of landmines with the Jeep unable to be driven more than 80 mph.

Interestingly, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator would not have been able to drive much faster than it did during this scene because it has a top speed of 97 mph.

11. 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
Gestalt Imagery/Shutterstock

One of the greatest hero cars from the Fast and Furious franchise is the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. This vehicle won the 2013 OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Only seven cars in the entire world have ever held this title. That’s why it’s unsurprising that this vehicle made its way into The Fate of the Furious

This car features in the movie after fans find out that Dom betrayed his own team. Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) picks out the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and the movie shows that modifications are being made to it. The car is then seen again during the major New York chase scene in the movie.

The 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray featured in this movie is equipped with a 6.4-liter engine with a maximum horsepower rating of 250 at 4,400 rpm. It is able to reach a fairly impressive top speed of 125 mph.

12. Toyota GR Supra

Toyota GR Supra
Mike Mareen/Shutterstock

According to many fans, the Toyota GR Supra featured in Fast 9 is a homage to Paul Walker’s car in the first film. The Toyota GR Supra is decked out in bright orange and is driven by Han in one of the film’s best action scenes.

During the scene where the team equips huge electromagnets to their vehicles, the Toyota GR Supra can clearly be seen doing a nifty handbrake turn before reversing at high speeds to hook onto an armored truck.

The Toyota GR Supra is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that is capable of producing a horsepower rating of 258 at 5,000 rpm. Additionally, this vehicle has a top speed of 155 mph and can accelerate to 60 mph in only 3.9 seconds.

13. 1973 Chevrolet Camaro

1973 Chevrolet Camaro
betto rodrigues/Shutterstock

Although the 1973 Chevrolet Camaro only plays a minor role in the Fast and Furious movie, it makes an impact. This classic muscle car is driven by one of the bad guy’s men and is used to chase Brian and Dom.

During the scene, Dom jumps into the Camaro from his Charger and uses it to escape from the tunnel and kill Fenix Calderon when he rams the car into him. The scene is all about getting justice for Letty, which is likely why it’s seen as one of the best cars from the franchise.

The 1973 Chevrolet Camaro is an F-bomb impersonator because of how rare the original 1973 Chevrolet Camaro is. Unlike the original Camaro F-bomb that was equipped with a twin-turbocharged 1500 horsepower V8 engine, the impersonator vehicle used during this scene has a GM 300 horsepower crate engine.

14. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK

Who can forget the infamous plane drop scene during Furious 7 where Tej is seen in an armored Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK dropping out of a plane alongside a few others in Dom’s crew?

The armored Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK seen in the movie received many modifications that allowed it to achieve death-defying stunts while also achieving top speeds not usually seen with this vehicle model.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK is a four-wheel-drive beast of a car that features a 3.6-liter V6 engine that can produce a horsepower rating of 285 at 6,400 rpm. It has an estimated top speed of 112 mph which is impressive considering that it has a curb weight of 4,277 pounds.

15. 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse

1995-mitsubishi-eclipse

It’s unlikely anyone can forget the Kawasaki green 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse tuner car that had a minor yet significant appearance in the original The Fast and the Furious film. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse is actually a customized car manufactured by Diamond Star Motors and Mitsubishi Motors.

This race car is driven by Brian O’Conner during his preparation for his first-ever street race. Despite being unable to keep the car from spinning out of control, he still decides to race it to try and win the favor of Dominic Toretto. After the scene, O’Connor manages to win the street race, but he still loses control of the vehicle.

Besides its attractive exterior appearance, its performance specifications and capabilities allow this vehicle to make it onto our list. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse has a 420a 16-valve dual overhead cam 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of producing a horsepower rating of 165.

Interestingly, this model has a 75 hp nitrous oxide system that was never fully installed, a custom carbon fiber front splitter, a custom GT style roof scoop, green neon lighting, and 1997 spec eclipse headlights.

16. Ford Escort

AutotopiaLA/YouTube

Did you know the Ford Escort seen in Fast and Furious 6 had to be sourced and built in Britain? This is because the American models were only manufactured as front-wheel-drive cars. These stunt cars were turned into 1972 RS1600 replicas.

This car might make a minor appearance in the film, but it is definitely memorable. The Ford Escort is seen completing a successful jump scene with Brian O’Connor at the steering wheel. During this scene, O’Connor uses the Ford Escort’s rally-spec suspension.

For this film, there were five Escorts assembled. Some feature 2.0-liter Vauxhall Redtop engines, while others have a 1.6-liter Ford Kent engine with DOHC Cosworth heads and double Weber carbs.

17. 2014 W Motors Lykan HyperSport

2014 W Motors Lykan HyperSport

The hero car in Furious 7 is undoubtedly the 2014 W Motors Lykan Hypersport. This vehicle is the first hypercar produced by W Motors and is the most expensive car featured in the Fast and Furious franchise. There are only seven Lycan Hypersort’s ever made.

Dom infamously drives this hypercar through a building in Abu Dhabi while Brian tries to remove a chip that the crew needs. During this epic scene, Dom drives the 2014 W Motors Lykan Hypersport through a penthouse window.

There were 10 replicas of this car built for the movie, and by the end of filming, only one survived. Astonishingly the 2014 W Motors Lykan Hypersportias is able to reach 0 to 60 in less than three seconds.

18. Camaro Yenko

Camaro Yenko
Steve Lagreca/Shutterstock

During 2 Fast 2 Furious the 1969 Camaro Yenko is one of the most memorable cars to feature in the film. As with many other vehicles used in this film franchise, the Camaro Yenko is a replica of the original.

As a tribute to the late Paul Walker who drove this vehicle, the Camaro Yenko was donated to the “Paul Walker Charity ROWW.”

In 2 Fast 2 Furious, Brian wins the Camaro Yenko after challenging two bad guys to a race between himself and Rome. He then uses this vehicle as a getaway car to escape the notice of the local police when they go to retrieve Verone’s money.

It’s believed that the Camaro Yenko featured in this film is equipped with a 427 V8 engine capable of producing a horsepower rating of 425.

19. Dodge Challenger SRT-8

Dodge Challenger SRT-8
Tottoro.Photo/Shutterstock

Dominic Torreto drives the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 during Fast Five and Fast and Furious 6. In Fast Five, the Dodge Challenger SRT-8 isn’t used in any major action scenes, but Dom does race Brian with this vehicle.

In Fast and the Furious 6, Dom races his Dodge Challenger SRT-8 as fast as possible so as not to miss the birth of his sister and Brian’s child. Later in the same film, he drives this vehicle to deliver the news that Letty is still alive.

The Dodge Challenger SRT-8 is incredibly powerful and able to perform well during films because of its 6.4 V8 engine. These models have a top speed of 180 mph and a maximum horsepower rating of 470.

20. 1968 Dodge Charger

1968 Dodge Charger RT
BoJack/Shutterstock

The 1968 Dodge Charger, also known as the “Hellacious Dodge Charger,” is not driven by one Toretto brother but two during Fast 9. Not many people are aware that Speedkore modified this vehicle, and unlike Dom’s other Chargers, this one has its engine centered in the middle.

The fan’s first glimpse of the 1968 Dodge Charger in the latest installment of the film franchise is seen when Dom is hunting the second half of Project Aries, but his brother Jakob beats him to it.

Yet, the more memorable scene where this vehicle is a primary focus is during the magnet scene when Dom uses the Charger to take out other vehicles and save his brother’s life. Interestingly, it isn’t until the end of the movie that Jakob (John Cena) drives the Charger when Dom gives it to him so that he can go into hiding.

The 1968 Dodge Charger is equipped with a cast-iron water-cooled V8 engine with a horsepower rating of up to 425 at 5,000 rpm. Additionally, this muscle car had a top speed of approximately 136 mph. This might be the coolest car in the series.

10 of the Most Expensive US Homes

1. West Creek Ranch, Gateway, Colorado ($279 million)

west creek ranch
Sotheby’s International Realty/YouTube

Curiously, one of the biggest and most expensive homes to ever be built in America is the West Creek Ranch, located in Gateway, Colorado. This home is so expansive that it straddles the states of Utah and Colorado. West Creek Ranch consists of four parcels of land that make up approximately 8,700 acres of lush countryside. Unsurprisingly, this much space allows this home to have a hefty price tag of an estimated $279 million.

It makes sense that this gorgeously designed house that is nestled in nature belongs to the Discovery Channel founder and billionaire John Hendricks. West Creek Ranch’s main structure dates back to 2001, but the house was initially bought in the 1990s and then added to over the years. The primary ranch residence comprises 22,000 square feet, and many other lodge-style residences surround it, with an incredible total of 72 rooms.

The interior of this house is rustic yet beautiful, with elegant furnishings and dramatic architectural flourishes. The primary residence consists of eight bedrooms with eight bathrooms, a circular stone library, an art studio, a gym, a movie theatre, and a swimming pool with a spa. It is rumored this ranch also has a mountain lion habitat, the ruins of the historic Driggs mansion, and even real dinosaur footprints!

Although this ranch is magnificent, it has had some trouble selling. In 2017, the home was listed for $149 million, but when it didn’t sell, the price declined to $130 million. Even with this significantly lower price, the house has struggled to sell, which is why it is strange that the price has increased so exponentially.

2. Four-Story Mega Mansion, Bel Air, California ($250 million)

Williams & Williams Estates Group/YouTube

One of the most unique homes on the market is the four-story mega-mansion located in Bel Air, California. This modern home has an estimated retail price of $250 million because of the numerous over-the-top features and amenities.

This American mansion has over 100 rare and uber-expensive artworks, along with a collection of rare and expensive cars—including a Bugatti—that collectively total an astounding $30 million. The home was designed by the brilliant Bruce Makowsky, and it took four years and 300 skilled laborers to complete. Unlike other expensive houses listed on the market, this one comes fully furnished with seven staff members including a chef and masseuse.

There are 38,000 square feet of interior space and a massive 17,000 square-foot outdoor deck. Inside this four-story mansion are 12 bedrooms, 21 bathrooms, 10 guest suites, two master suites, three kitchens, and a glorious swim-up bar.

The abode is also equipped with a home theatre system with a 22-foot screen, 4K projector, and several thousand preloaded movies. This incredible system also has 57 speakers and 16 subwoofers, and there are 40 reclining chairs in the room that allow guests to truly immerse themselves in the entertainment area. Some of the other notable features and amenities in this modern home include an 85-foot-long infinity pool, two commercial elevators, a four-lane bowling alley, a massage room, a spa, a rooftop helipad, and a home gym

3. Mylestone at Meadow Lane, Southampton, New York ($175 million)

The Hamptons are definitely one of the most prestigious areas in New York where one can choose to settle down or own a holiday home. There are many gorgeous listings available in this area, but one of the most expensive homes currently available is Mylestone at Meadow Lane, located in Southampton, New York. This exquisite modern Tudor-style mansion has quite the price tag with a listed price of $175 million.

Although this American home is expensive, it has many attractive qualities. The home sits on a twin plot that spans nearly eight acres and has direct access to the waters of the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. There are also multiple alfresco dining areas, a caretaker’s cottage, a heated outdoor pool, and a deep water dock.

Inside, this modern Tuscan home is furnished in a contemporary coastal style with neutral ocean tones of whites, browns, and blues. The home features elegant timber floors, custom millwork, intricate tilework in the kitchen, cozy fireplaces, and beautiful grasscloth wallpaper.

There are 11 ample rooms, 12 bathrooms, a breakfast room, numerous living rooms, a vast and spacious farmhouse kitchen, and a gorgeously decorated dining room. The master suite has a 660-square-foot oceanfront terrace with its own hot tub. Additionally, there is also a lovely sunroom, an indoor gym, a yoga studio, and an expansive observation deck.

4. Villa Firenze, Beverly Hills, California ($160 million)

Villa Firenze, Beverly Hills, California ($160 million)
Concierge Auctions/YouTube

When looking for value for money, the Villa Firenze property might be the perfect American home. This property markets itself as an “authentic Italian village” and is the largest assemblage in Beverly Park.

Renowned architect William Hablinski designed it, and it took seven years to complete. Currently, it’s believed that the house belongs to Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, the CEO of Air Lease Corp. He reportedly placed the house on the market in 2020 for $165 million before the price was dropped to its current price of $160 million.

This house is so expensive because it is set on nine acres of prime real estate and it has its own access street. The gated 20,000-square-foot compound has a 30-car courtyard, 20 bedrooms, and 23 bathrooms.

The interior is packed with luxurious amenities. There are sizable formal gathering areas, high ceilings, and arched doorways. The backyard features four acres of landscaped gardens with a pool, pool house, and a two-story guest home. Additionally, Villa Firenze also features a separate lot for additional development, a walking and jogging trail, and a tennis court.

5. Chartwell, Los Angeles, California ($150 million)

chartwell estate
Mr. Splendor/Shutterstock

The city of Los Angeles is filled with many gorgeous and expensive homes, but perhaps none are as spectacular as Chartwell. In 2017 Chartwell was listed for an incredible $350 million, but unsurprisingly the outrageous price for this home was later lowered significantly. In 2019 the house was listed at a much lower $150 million, and this more reasonable price tag prompted media mogul Lachlan Murdoch to purchase the home.

Architect Summer Spaulding gorgeously designed the Chartwell estate in the 1930s to mimic a historic neo-classical fairytale chateau. In fact, it’s believed that this home was named after a 14th-century estate in England. With its regal and refined appearance, this estate is considered by many to be one of LA’s finest homes.

This home is 25,000 square feet and sits on ten acres of land. Inside there are beautiful hand-painted ceilings with ornate timer panellings and a vaulted foyer. There are 18 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, and each oversized room is lavishly decorated with costly furnishings and fittings.

Additionally, the home features a grand ballroom, numerous formal dining rooms, and many living rooms. Furthermore, some of the other notable features and amenities include a secret tunnel from the house to the 75-foot-long swimming pool, a tennis court, a pool house, a guest house, and an underground garage with enough space to house 40 vehicles.

6. The One, Bel Air, California ($141 million)

The One, Bel Air, California ($350 million)
Augustus Films LLC/YouTube

Once expected to sell for a whopping $500 million, this Californian beauty referred to as “The One” was on the market for several years before finally selling for just $141 million. Located in the luxurious suburb of Bel Air this modern masterpiece was designed by the talented architect Paul McClean while Kathryn Rotondi exacted the interior design.

Taking ten years to develop, The One is built on a five-acre plot that cost $28 million. Constructed by film producer-turned-real estate developer Nile Niami, over 600 laborers were enlisted to build the home which has 360-degree unobstructed views of Downtown Los Angeles, the Pacific Ocean, and the magnificent San Gabriel Mountains.

Inside this 105,000-square-foot home is a stunning minimalistic modern theme that features marble and glass accents and 26-foot high ceilings. There are 21 bedrooms, with the massive master bedroom taking up 5,500 square feet alone.

Some of the more impressive features include 42 bathrooms, a 10,000-square-foot sky deck, a 30-seat movie theatre, a four-lane bowling alley, and a spa level. Additionally, three sides of the house are surrounded by a moat and a 400-foot-long jogging track.

7. II Palmetto, Palm Beach, Florida ($137 million)

II Palmetto, Palm Beach, FL ($137 million)

Palm Beach in Florida has some expensive homes listed but none more so than the II Palmetto mansion. This home is designed with the 1930s Italian Renaissance in mind. Although it has been on and off the market a few times, it has recently been relisted for the price of $137 million.

This 60,000-square-foot home has ten bedrooms and features some of the most magnificent interior architecture that Fairfax and Sammons oversaw. The Pavillion-style rooms have a two-story entrance hall, and there are 16th-century carved ceilings in the formal dining room and shield ceilings in the living room.

Inside the primary residence, there’s a butler’s pantry, chef’s kitchen, billiards room, library, home office, and a home theatre. One of the nicest features of this up-market home is the gorgeous cellar crafted out of limestone and can hold 20,000 wine bottles.

There’s also a long underground tunnel that leads to a beach house which consists of two bedrooms and three bathrooms. Additionally, the home also features an infinity pool and a boathouse with two motorized boat launches.

8. Beverly Hills Estate, Los Angeles, California ($125 million)

Beverly Hills Estate, Los Angeles, CA ($125 million)
Arvin Haddad – ZipSmart/Real Estate

Since 2015 the Beverly Hills Estate located in Los Angeles, California, has belonged to billionaire tycoon Steve Wynn. However, in 2021 the house was listed on the market for $110 million but was later increased to $125 million when a suitable buyer was not found. With this new price tag, the estate that sits on three acres of land has become one of the most expensive mansions in California to date.

Before it belonged to Steve Wynn, the home belonged to Maurice Marciano, the co-founder of Guess jeans. Wynn reportedly purchased the house from Marciano for just under $48 million. Since he bought the home, Wynn has made numerous additions that have caused the home’s value to increase significantly.

This three-story eclectically designed home consists of 27,150 square feet that includes 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. The entire home boasts vibrant furnishings and high-end architectural elements that give the house an almost five-star hotel appearance. Inside the estate are a gym, office, wine cellar, bar, private art gallery, and movie theatre. Outside there is a swimming pool, guesthouse, staff suites, two apartments, and a tennis court.

The title for the highest selling price for a home in California went to The Manor, a house located in Los Angeles. In 2019 the home sold for a record-breaking $120 million when Petra Ecclestone decided to sell the property. It’s reported that she made an impressive profit as it’s believed she bought the house in 2011 for $85 million.

The Manor is a 56,500-square-foot chateau built in 1991, but it has had many modern additions made to it over the years. For example, the contemporary interior now has a spectacular entrance foyer lined with black and white marble. There are 123 rooms in this residence. Out of the 123 rooms, there are 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms. Additionally, there is a library, office, games room, billiard room, gym, wine cellar, and a high-end projection room.

Although these amenities are impressive, some of the other rooms in the house are also notable. Inside these modern chateaux, a beauty salon is equipped with a hairdresser station, a pedicure zone, a massage room, and a nail bar. There is also a room dedicated to cutting flowers, and there is a humidity-controlled room used for storing silver.

10. The Beverly Hills House, Los Angeles, California ($119 million)

The Beverly Hills House, Los Angeles, California ($119 million)
Tomer Fridman/YouTube

The last home on our list might be easily recognizable on account of the fact that it has appeared in many Hollywood films such as The Godfather and The Bodyguard. The Beverly Hills House is located in Los Angeles, California, only three blocks away from Sunset Boulevard. The house itself sits on three acres of land and has a listing price of a whopping $119 million.

Although there is no doubt that this home is one of the most spectacular and the most expensive in America, it also might be one of the most unsellable. Reportedly there are only 20 families in the world who could afford to purchase this home and maintain it.

In 2007 the home was listed at $165 million with a rental option of $600,000 a month. In 2017 the house was again listed on the market for a jaw-dropping $195 million, but when it still had not sold in 2020, it was relisted for $125 million. Yet even this price didn’t draw in willing buyers, which led to it being dropped further to $119 million.

Interestingly, this Mediterranean Revival-style Beverly Hills mansion was built in 1926. Even though it’s older than some of the other homes on our list, it’s no less opulent. The home features dramatically arched ceilings, gilded furnishings, and decorative paneled walls. Inside this home, there are 18 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms. There is also a two-story library, a billiard room, a hand-carved fireplace, a commercial-grade kitchen, and two formal dining rooms.

Additionally, this Beverly Hills home also has a lighted tennis court, two screening rooms, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Furthermore, the home also features an outdoor dining terrace that is large enough to seat 400 guests.

Exploring the Lap of Luxury: Inside 12 Expensive Celebrity Homes

12. Sting ($50 million)

Sting Expensive Home
lovePROPERTY

It isn’t only mansions, estates, castles, and villas that are expensive, as can be seen with former Police singer Sting’s $50 million Manhattan duplex penthouse. Although this duplex has a hefty price tag, it’s visually stunning and equipped with many features and amenities that make it worth it. It’s uncertain why Sting decided to sell the custom-designed duplex, but he definitely turned a profit on his original $27 million investment.

The duplex, which spans two entire floors and encompasses 5,417 square feet, is situated on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Inside there are four spacious bedrooms and four bathrooms that are luxuriously furnished with everything a celebrity could possibly need. There is also a spacious lounge, a chef’s kitchen, a sauna, and a library with built-in shelving.

Moreover, each room has a sophisticated interior theme that is well executed with elegant fixtures such as a spiral staircase and a bespoke free-standing fireplace. Additionally, the house boasts spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for unobstructed views of Central Park.

If you’re going to own a penthouse duplex in one of the most prestigious areas of Manhattan, you need to ensure it has an awe-inspiring terrace. This was likely Sting’s thinking as the outside of this home is almost more admirable than the inside. There is a 396-foot private terrace that affords spectacular views of New York City.

11. Tiger Woods ($54 million)

Sporting celebrity Tiger Woods decided to purchase an expensive $54 million home on Florida’s Juniper Island, with less than 1,000 people inhabiting it. Unlike other celebrity homes, this one has a very distinguishable feature—a gorgeous glass-covered walkway that separates the living areas from the rest of the house and has multiple purposes.

It’s unlikely Woods would have bought the 12 acres of land on which his 9,000 square-foot home resides if it didn’t come with the beautiful and functional three-and-a-half-acre golf course. In addition to this, the property also has two boat docks, a 100-foot-long swimming pool, and an outdoor tennis and basketball court.

Woods reportedly bought the home for around $45 million and invested another $15 million to get it into the condition it’s in today. Furthermore, some of the amenities on offer in this sporty house include a game room, wine cellar, media room, world-class gym, and strangely even an oxygen therapy room.

10. Johnny Depp ($55 Million)

Sotheby’s International Realty

While most celebrities own spectacular mansions in the Hollywood Hills or Palm Beach, Johnny Depp decided to take things international. The Pirates of the Caribbean star owns a home near the iconic Saint-Tropez in France.

Situated on 37 acres, the property is more like a small village than a home and includes the main house Depp occupies, guest cottages, an art studio, a chapel, and even a private restaurant known as Café Marcheline.

Purchased by Depp way back in 2001, the Edward Scissorhands actor sunk around $10 million into the property over 15 years, restoring many of the old stone structures on the land as well as building a skate park, a state-of-the-art gym, and Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired wine cave.

9. Adele ($58 Million)

Adele and her partner Rich Paul got an absolute bargain when they picked up Sylvester Stallone‘s former Beverly Park home in 2022 for just $58 million. Originally on the market for a whopping $110 million, Stallone was happy to sell to Adele at a cut price but the “Rolling in the Deep” singer has one condition: she keeps the Rocky statue in the backyard.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Stallone revealed he wanted to keep the statue but Adele had other plans. “I did. But she said, ‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal,” Stallone explained when discussing the purchase. “She wanted the statue. I like what she’s doing; she’s making it gorgeous.”

Unlike other celebrities on our list, Stallone built his mega-mansion himself in 1994. The house is situated in the sought-after suburb of Beverly Hills inside an exclusive enclave community. Due to the ingeniously elevated design, this home has almost unobstructed panoramic views of the famed Rodeo Drive.

The colorfully designed mega-mansion features eight spacious bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a breakfast room, a formal lounge, two powder rooms, and a dining room. Uniquely, some of the rooms in the mansion are decorated with movie memorabilia and contemporary art. But all that is changing, with Adele gutting the entire property, removing the second story, and making it her own.

8. Tom Cruise ($59 million)

Tom Cruise Expensive Home
Nimvo

Not every expensive celebrity home is located in an uber-elite area. Tom Cruise’s mountain ranch is located in Colorado just outside of Telluride and perfectly blends into its surroundings because of its elegant yet simplistic design.

The estimated $59 million, 10,000-square-foot house is located on 298 acres of land and includes horse stables, picturesque sprawling hills, and multiple forest trails. Interestingly, Cruise tried to sell this home in 2014, but he unlisted it after it was on the market for two years.

Inside this delightfully modern yet rustic home are seven comfortably furnished bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a recreational room, and a fully stocked custom library. Cruise reportedly designed the log mansion himself in 1994. Additionally, there is also a beautiful separate guest house that has three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Ironically, the Colorado mansion might not be as spectacular without its private helipad that allows Cruise and his guests to navigate the treacherous yet magnificent otherwise unattainable private land. There is also a motocross track, a hockey rink, a tennis court, and a basketball court.

7. Kim Kardashian ($60 Million)

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian Expensive Home
lovePROPERTY

Before Kim Kardashian and Kanye West bought this devastatingly beautiful mansion in the Hidden Hills in Hollywood, the home originally belonged to Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley. The pair only paid $20 million for the house in 2014, while extensive renovations added a further $20 million to the price tag,

When the lovebirds split, Kardashian paid West around $23 million to keep the house as part of the divorce settlement. She continues to live in the modern mansion with her brood of children, and to be honest, who wouldn’t want to with how spectacular it is?

The home boasts eight bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a show kitchen, a staff kitchen, a walk-in pantry, and a lounge that has gorgeous vaulted ceilings. Additionally, the theme for the home is modern yet minimalistic with a neutral color scheme.

Some of the more mention-worthy amenities include two well-maintained vineyards, two swimming pools, and a 1,050-square-foot entertainment pavilion. There is also a fully equipped music lab where Kanye would record and a garage manned by 24-hour security personnel.

6. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi ($70 Million)

The Agency

In 2022, property moguls Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi added to their already impressive portfolio of homes with a $70 million waterfront compound in Santa Barbara County. According to Love Property, the sprawling 10 acres consists of two parcels of land and comes with a “Tuscan farmhouse-style” mansion and a “small lake and stretching lawns.”

Across more than 9,000 square feet of living space are five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a wine cellar, a basement movie theater, and an outdoor kitchen. The master bedroom also features a spa-equipped terrace while the property has a marble mosaic pool, two spas, and a private path known as “Barranca Path” that leads down to the sandy beach below.

5. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie ($80 million)

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Expensive Home
Cheapism

For some celebrities, a mansion is too insignificant a home. So after spending some time house hunting, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bought an $80 million castle titled Chateau Miraval in the south of France in 2012 but leased the castle in 2008 before they divorced. The main structure can be traced back to the 17th century, but this doesn’t mean it’s outdated.

The castle features 35 rooms, of which there is a video game room, a home theatre, and an indoor pool. Surrounding the castle are multiple structures, including a partially built 17th-century Romanesque chapel. The castle, along with all its structures, falls on 12,00 square feet.

It’s not only the inside that is impressive. The outside of this property boasts a dirt bike course, a 200-year-old olive tree, a vineyard, pine forests, lakes, fountains, and even a medieval moat to keep the paparazzi out.

4. Oprah Winfrey ($100 million)

Oprah Winfrey’s Expensive Home

Oprah Winfrey might have grown up in a low-income environment, but against all odds, she managed to make a success out of her life. The star is well known for her business mindset and, as such, has quite an impressive property portfolio. However, her most remarkable home is definitely her Promised Land estate, estimated to be worth $100 million in today’s market.

Interestingly it took much effort on Winfrey’s part to acquire the property as it wasn’t on the market. However, the previous owners Marlene and Robert Veloz ultimately decided to take Winfrey up on her generous $54 million offer. Since then, she has added other buildings, features, and amenities that have allowed its worth to increase exponentially.

The Promised Land estate is made up of approximately 13 buildings packed with impressive and luxurious furnishings and appliances. It’s situated in Montecito, California, on almost 70 acres of land. It’s believed that Winfrey’s primary residence in her estate is the 23,000 square foot neo-Georgian mansion which has six bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, two theatres, and 10 fireplaces.

Although the two pools, tennis court, and koi pond are impressive, the opulent private bathroom is perhaps the most unbelievable. Winfrey reportedly had an entire team of artisans design and build a luxurious bathroom that features a bathtub that was uniquely carved into the shape of her body.

3. Pierce Brosnan ($100 million)

Pierce Brosnan Expensive Home
lovePROPERTY

We all know how expensive oceanfront real estate can be, but no price is too high when you’re a celebrity with a high net worth. It may seem unbelievable, but 007 actor Pierce Brosnan owns one of the most expensive celebrity homes. Brosnan bought two lots of land for around $10 million and built this coastal real estate wonder that features panoramic views from nearly every room.

Due to the almost excessive opulence and Japanese-style spa, the 13,000 foot Thai-inspired home is similar to a five-star resort. However, despite its grandeur, the actor decided to place the oceanfront home on the market in October 2020 for a whopping $100 million.

The coastal home has an open plan layout which allows loads of natural light to filter in throughout the day. Each room in this five bedroom house has gorgeous teak flooring and handcrafted woodwork with floor-to-ceiling windows. Besides the impressive bedrooms, there is also a chef’s kitchen filled with modern appliances, 14 luxurious bathrooms, and a custom-designed butler’s pantry with a temperature-controlled wine closet.

Other features and amenities that make this home worth its hefty $100 million price tag include a recording studio, screening room with bar, saltwater pool, plunge pool, steam room, and multiple saunas. Another perk for the new owner of this celebrity home will be 117 feet of private beachfront that comes with the property.

2. George Clooney ($100 million)

George Clooney’s Expensive Home
Nimvo

You might not ever be able to own a celebrity house due to the expensive price tags, but you can at least rent one. Those thirsting for a taste of celebrity lifestyle luxury can rent out George Clooney’s $100 million villa if they have the budget and are visiting Italy.

Clooney’s gorgeous Villa Oleandra was built in the 18th century but has since been updated to include all the modern luxury amenities and features befitting a celebrity lifestyle. According to sources, the villa is a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary interior design styles and furnishings.

The mansion boasts 25 rooms with ornately carved ceilings, an expansive garage, a private gym, and numerous massive bathrooms. Additionally, one of the best features this home has is its comfortable outdoor theatre. There’s also a unique pizza room and a specifically engineered and constructed wall that keeps the lake from pouring directly into the home.

1. Jay-Z & Beyoncé ($200 million)

Jay-Z & Beyoncé Expensive Home
lovePROPERTY

Jay Z and Beyoncé are well known for their refined style, incredible vocals, and high net worth, but they should also be known for their cunning business skills. The pair considered an uber-modern Malibu mansion that was initially priced at $295 million. After grueling negotiations, they managed to purchase the home for only $200 million, an absolute steal!

Hailed as the most expensive home in California, the Brutalist compound consists of six structures that total an incredible 30,000 square feet of combined living space. It’s constructed out of glass, steel, and gorgeous marbled limestone, with one of the most picturesque architectural features being the dark wood and Italian limestone staircase.

Designed by famed Japanese architect Tadao AndoInside, the concrete structure was previously owned and built by art collector William Bell. It took Bell close to 15 years to finish the home, with the Los Angeles Times reporting that “7,645 cubic yards of concrete” were used to build the home.

As the sale of the mansion was private, there are no details regarding how many bathrooms, bedrooms, or other interesting features there are contained inside, but no doubt this home is, in Beyonce’s own words, “***Flawless.”

240 Best Never Have I Ever Questions https://nextluxury.com/mens-lifestyle-advice/never-have-i-ever-questions/ Thu, 28 Jul 2022 17:00:00 +0000 https://nextluxury.com/?p=245120 …]]> One of the best ways to get to know someone better is to engage in a friendly game of “never have I ever.” It’s likely that you’ve played this fun game before, either at a party, while in school, or even on a date. It’s a simple game that involves asking someone never have I ever questions and then waiting to see what type of response they give.

The “never have I ever” game lets us ask the questions we might be too cautious, afraid, or embarrassed to ask in an everyday setting. You would be surprised by what you don’t know about the people closest to you. Additionally, playing this game with acquaintances can be a serious eye-opener and enlighten you to what they’re really like.

never-have-i-ever-questions

At its core, the “never have I ever” game’s purpose is to get everybody involved laughing, thinking, cringing, and in general, having a good time. Yet, it can be challenging to achieve this perfect balance. For a game of “never have I ever” to be successful, it needs questions that aren’t too boring, dirty, mischievous, or scandalous. This is the family edition, but you can spice things up and make it more adults only if you like.

The best way to play this party game is with alcohol, as people are much more open to talking about things after a few drinks. When you play “never have I ever” as a drinking game, whenever a question is asked, if you can reply to the question with yes, you take a shot or big sip of your drink and then must tell everyone what happened. You can even add dare questions to the equation, with someone who doesn’t want to answer the original question being forced to choose from a selection of dare questions instead.

When it comes to the type of questions, you can ask anything. Dirty questions, personal questions, funny questions, random questions, and intriguing questions are just some of the genres of questions you can ask. There really is no limit to what you can ask, just as long as you tailor the questions to your audience. A dirty question might excite your girlfriend but not impress her parents. Just pick a good question and game night will be lots of fun. You might even get some funny answers like the time Ellen DeGeneres played the game on her show with Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, and Anna Kendrick.

To help you achieve this elusive perfect balance, we’ve rounded up 240 of the best “never have I ever” questions out there. The next time you are considering hosting or attending a social gathering, you may want to refer to this list for some inspiration.

20 of the Best Sports Cars of the 80s https://nextluxury.com/cars-rides/80s-sports-cars/ Wed, 15 Dec 2021 20:00:55 +0000 https://nextluxury.com/?p=254609 …]]> For many, the 1980s was the greatest decade of their lives. Even those who weren’t born then have found themselves wishing they could have experienced life in the 80s. Besides the legendary music to come out during this era, one of the biggest reasons why the 80s is revered today is because of the numerous iconic sports cars that were released.

The 1980s might possibly be the best decade in automotive history. During the 80s, innovation was at the forefront, with features like airbags, fuel injection, and turbocharging making their appearance. Many car enthusiasts have even gone so far as to say that the 80s was the golden age for car tech.

80s cars also had performance capabilities never before seen. For example, the Porsche-derived Ruf CTR Yellowbird became the first-ever legal production sports car to break the 200 mph mark. The forward-thinking car manufacturers in the 80s paved the way for some truly remarkable 80s sports cars that we cannot wait to tell you about in this article.

1. Ferrari Testarossa

The most defining feature of the Ferrari Testarossa is undoubtedly its “cheese grater” sides. Unlike other 80s cars, this model had a unique look compared to the wedge-shaped cars of the era.

This Ferrari was the successor to the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer and was introduced to the world at the 1984 Paris Auto Show. Many don’t know that the Ferrari Tesstorsa was the only mid-mounted 12 cylinder luxury vehicle ever built.

Equipped in most of the Ferrari Testarossa models was a 4.9-liter flat 12 engine. This engine permitted the Tesstorsa models to deliver a horsepower rating of 385. Additionally, these 80s sports cars could reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, and they had a top speed of 180 mph.

2. Chrysler Conquest

Did you know that there were two different body styles for the Chrysler Conquest? Since there were Japanese regulations on size, early Conquest models were narrow, which qualified them for a lower tax bracket. When the company branched out to the American market with this vehicle, they made a wider version that was well received.

What many car enthusiasts likely know, but the average person doesn’t, is that the Chrysler Conquest was actually a modified Mitsubishi Starion. Unlike a few other 80s sports cars, the Conquest featured electronically controlled emissions, thermostatic climate control, and an optional digital dashboard.

In essence, the Chrysler Conquest was a Japanese sports car. In Japan, the vehicles were equipped with a 2.0-liter engine, while in America, they had a 2.6-liter single overhead cam engine that had twin injectors and throttle body electronic fuel injection. The base models were able to produce a horsepower rating of 150.

3. Ferrari 308 GTBI

Until the Ferrari 360 Modena was released in the early 2000s, the Ferrari 308 GTBI models were Ferrari’s biggest selling sports cars. Between 1975 and 1985, there were approximately more than 12,000 models sold, and when the 308 was equipped with a slightly larger engine in 1985, there were a further 7,412 units sold between 1985 and 1988.

The 1980 to 1983 Ferrari 308 GTBI’s were the brand’s marketing weapon of choice. These models were not built as race cars, nor were they built to be rally cars, even though they did complete a fair amount of rally races. Instead, their main goal was to keep the Ferrari name alive on the streets.

Under its hood, the 308 GTBI was equipped with a 2.9-liter engine with four valves per cylinder. Additionally, it featured a fuel-injected system because of the emission regulations of the time. Moreover, this model could reach a top speed of 146 mph.

4. 1980 Audi Quattro

The 1980 Audi Quattro was specifically designed to be a rally race car and was introduced in 1980 at the Geneva Motor Show. The Audi Quattro won consecutively at competition racing events for two years because it was constructed to be a high-performance sports car. Interestingly Audi planned for the Quattro year models to be a low production sports car, but their immense popularity allowed the brand to continue the Quattro lineup until 1991.

The 1980 Audi Quattro had a multi-point injection fuel system and a 2.1-liter engine that could produce a horsepower rating of 200. This model had a top speed of 138 mph, and it could reach 62 mph in 7.1 seconds.

5. AMC Eagle

The AMC Eagle SX/4 wasn’t the greatest sports car ever made, and it wasn’t loved by car enthusiasts in America, but it managed to find a home in Japan and become one of the most trusted sports cars of the 80s. The AMC Eagle SX/4 was only produced for three years, but in those three years, it left its mark.

Curiously, the AMC Eagle SX/4 was an 80s car that was equipped with an advanced select drive system. This was a first of its kind because it was a true full-time automatic system that operated between all-wheel drive and two-wheel drive to save fuel.

Additionally, even though the AMC Eagle SX/4 was only produced for three years, it participated in the ProRally series for six years. Between 1981 and 1986, there were 18 drivers who drove the SX/4 through rallies across the US.

6. 1986 BMW E30 M3

Since BMW wanted to build a vehicle to compete in DTM, they had to meet the FIA’s Group AA regulations. In order to meet these regulations, they needed to produce 5,000 road-going units of the vehicle they wanted to race. It is because of these regulations that the 1986 E30 M3 was developed.

The 1986 BMW E30 M3 featured a large rear spoiler, flared wheel arches, wide tires, a deep front splitter, and a host of other aerodynamic add ons were manufactured from plastic to ensure the sports car would be as lightweight as possible.

Yet, what made this 80s sports car stand out from the competition was its special high revving 2.3-liter four-cylinder DOHC engine. When this model was fitted with a catalytic converter, it could achieve a horsepower rating of 197, and when it wasn’t fitted with one, it had a horsepower rating of 192. With this high revving engine, the 1986 BMW E30 M3 could reach a top speed of 146 mph, and it could go from 0 to 62 mph in less than seven seconds.

One of the most sought-after 80s cars was the 1987 Buick Grand National GNX. This sports car was introduced as a high-performance limited edition version of the Buick Grand national. There were only ever 547 Buick GNX models manufactured in 1987, which was a minute number compared to the 20,193 Grand Nationals that were produced overall.

The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX was the fastest American car you could buy in 1987. It was equipped with a modified Grand National turbo-charged and inter-cooled 3.8-liter V6 engine.

It also had functional body modifications, exhaust and suspension modifications, and functional body modifications. With the body modifications, this model was a powerhouse. According to accounts, the 1987 Buick Grand National GNX could reach 0 to 60 in approximately 4.7 seconds, and it had a top speed of 124 mph.

8. Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV

The Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV was introduced to the world in 1985 at the Geneva Auto Show. Interestingly, the QV stood for “quattrovalvole,” which is Italian for four-valve. Only 610 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV models were produced from 1985 to 1988.

Many people instantly fell in love with this supercar because of its aggressively attractive styling and incredible performance capabilities. The 1985 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV was equipped with a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that was given four valves per cylinder head to increase efficiency.

With this engine equipped, the LP5000 QV models could produce a horsepower rating of 455 at 7,700 and a torque rating of 340 pounds per foot at 5,200 rpm. These spectacularly attractive models had a top speed of 182 mph and could reach 60 mph in an approximated 4.9 seconds.

9. Ferrari 288 GTO

Were you aware that the legendary Ferrari 288 GTO models were developed to allow Ferrari to make a comeback in Group B racing? During the 80s, there were 272 road-going GTO’s built and 5 GTO Evoluzione models built for pure racing. Interestingly, only three of the Evoluzione versions still exist today.

The Ferrari 288 GTO was the first vehicle in the Ferrari supercar series, and many believe the 288 GTO is responsible for paving the way for the iconic F40, F50, and Enzo models. When it was presented at the prestigious Geneva Motor Show, the 288 GTO was the fastest and most powerful road car that Ferrari had ever built.

This supremely masculine-looking vehicle was equipped with a 2.8-liter V8 engine that permitted the supercar to impressively reach 60 mph in about five seconds. Additionally, it had a top speed of 189 mph.

10. Porsche 959

One of the most advanced sports cars to be produced in the 1980s was the Porsche 959. Not only was this sports car Porsche’s most technologically advanced car, but it was also the only classic car at the time that could confidently rival Ferrari’s F40. Additionally, the Porsche 959 was specifically engineered for the brand’s planned involvement in group B rallying.

Many defining features allowed this vehicle to claim a place in the automotive history books. The Porsche 959 was equipped with hollow spoke wheels, Kevlar composite body panels, state-of-the-art all-wheel drive, and turbocharging. Interestingly, this model had a top speed of 197 mph, making it one of the fastest cars to be released.

11. 1987 Ferrari F40

The 1987 Ferrari F40 is one of the brand’s most iconic vehicles. This sports car was Ferrari’s flagship of the late 80s. Interestingly the F40 was the last road car Enzo Ferrari signed off on himself.

Many have stated that this model was an integral player in the growth and development of the brand. Additionally, perhaps the most interesting aspect about this classic 80s car is that its paint was so incredibly thin that the texture of its Kevlar weave could be seen beneath it.

Instead of housing a V12 engine, this model was equipped with a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V8 engine. With this engine equipped, the spectacular 1987 Ferrari F40 was able to produce a horsepower rating of 478, and it could race the quarter-mile at a speed of 122 mph. By today’s standards, this sports car can still outrun models that have a horsepower rating of 650.

12. 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Z28

One of the greatest American pony cars to be produced in the 80s was the 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Z28. This classic car had astoundingly impressive performance capabilities with horsepower and torque ratings to rival many other sports cars released during the same year.

According to reports, there were approximately 38,889 Camaro IROC-Z Z28’s produced. The 1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Z28 was equipped with a 350 cubic inch TPI four-speed automatic transmission engine that allowed it to produce a horsepower rating of 230. Straight out of production, the IROC-Z Z28 could reach 60 mph in 6.68 seconds, and it could complete the quarter-mile pass in 15.23 seconds at 91.2 mph.

13. 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

If you had to ask anyone which 80s sports car is the most remembered, they would likely tell you it is the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12. Arguably this vehicle is the most well-remembered because of its appearance in the film Back to the Future

Our list wouldn’t be worth anything if we didn’t add this iconic pop culture car to our lineup. Even though this classic car wasn’t as powerful as others, its charming design and unique stylistic elements made it tstand out. For example, the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 featured stainless steel brushed steel body outer body panels, enticing gull-wing doors, and a chassis coated with epoxy to prevent erosion.

This sports car was equipped with a PRV 2.85-liter V6 engine that could produce a horsepower rating of 130 at 5,500 rpm. Additionally, this model had a torque rating of 153 lb-ft at 2,750 rpm, and it could reach a somewhat impressive top speed of 110 mph and 60 mph in 9.5 seconds.

In the 80s, pony cars were incredibly popular. Everyone wanted to own one or at the very least have the opportunity to drive one. One of the best American pony cars that stood out for its compact yet exotic look and incredible performance was the 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This model was the Ford Mustangs’ direct rival.

The 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was equipped with a 5-liter V8 engine with a GM Turbo Hydramatic THM 350 three-speed automatic transmission. It was able to accelerate to 60 mph in 10.7 seconds, and it could race the quarter-mile in 18 seconds. Additionally, with this engine, the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was able to reach a horsepower rating of 155.

15. Datsun 280ZX 10th Anniversary

To celebrate the anniversary of the Z model range, Nissan released the special edition Datsun 280ZX 10th Anniversary model. Since this sports car was a limited production run, only 3,000 units were produced. That’s why the 280ZX 10th Anniversary models are incredibly sought after today. In particular, many seek out the red and black paint scheme models as only 500 of those were produced.

Unlike previous versions, the Anniversary edition was equipped with a hi-fi stereo, leather seats, and other luxurious features. It was also equipped with headlight washers, a golden Z hood badge, a tinted T-bar roof, and commemorative wreath decals on the hatch and front fenders. It came with a 2.8-liter inline-six engine that was capable of producing a horsepower rating of 132 with a torque rating of 144 pounds per foot.

16. 1987 Ford Mustang GT 5.0

Ford Mustang was one of the leading manufacturers of pony cars in the 1980s, but this isn’t the only type of vehicle they were manufacturing. The 1987 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 is one of their understated sports car icons that deserves more attention.

The 1987 Ford Mustang GTO 5.0 portrayed a much sleeker look than its predecessors. This model managed to achieve a sleeker look because of its flush-mounted headlights and exterior styling. In addition to looking like the more modern cars of the era, this sports sedan had impressive performance capabilities.

It might not have been the best at fuel economy, but the 1987 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 was equipped with a 302 cubic inch 5.0-liter V8 engine. With this engine, this sports car could produce a horsepower rating of 225, and it could reach 60 mph in approximately six seconds. Additionally, it had a top speed of 150 mph.

17. Mazda 323 GTX

Another rally sports car that deserves to be on our list of the best 80s sports cars is the Mazda 323 GTX. This model was in production from 1985 until 1989 and can be described as a turbocharged, rally-inspired hatchback.

Interestingly, finding a Mazda 323 GTX for sale is incredibly difficult. Partly because only 1,243 units were ever imported to America and partly because those who owned these cars treated them like rally cars.

Although the Mazda 323 GTX was small and light and equipped with a 1.6-liter engine, they packed quite the performance punch for their class. These 80s sports cars came with a factory standard 140 horsepower rating but could be boosted to produce a maximum horsepower rating of 250.

18. Mercedes-Benz G-Class

Did you know that the Pope requested a special version of the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon 230G in 1980? The Mercedes-Benz G-Class models might not be the classic definition of what a sports car ought to be, but they are certainly robust, versatile, durable, reliable, and powerful.

To date, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class models are still in production and have become one of the longest-produced models by Daimlers and sold by Mercedes. In 2020 the G-Class model range reached a milestone when the 400,000th unit was manufactured.

The G-Class models are characterized by their attractive boxy styling and body on frame construction. The 1980 Mercedes-Benz G-Class had a top speed of 80 mph.

19. Nissan Pulsar NX

Some of the most convenient and versatile sports cars produced in the 80s were the second-generation Nissan Pulsar NX models. These 80s vehicles came in various options such as a convertible, a camper-like wagon, a coupe, and a liftback.

Curiously, the second-generation Nissan Pulsar NX models from the 80s were dubbed the “sportbak.” It sold in the dozens overnight and included some pretty impressive features when it was introduced. For example, they were equipped with rectangular tail lights with diagonal cutouts and a body-color overlay that could be removed.

The Nissan Pulsar NX was manufactured from 1987 to 1990, and during this time, it had two engine options. Drivers could choose between a 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter high revving engine and between a five-speed manual transmission or four-speed automatic transmission.

20. SAAB 900 Turbo 16S GT

Were you aware that in 1985 the SAAB 900 Turbo 16S GT was one of the safest cars on the market? These models were not only safer to drive than other vehicles on the American automotive market, but they were also insanely enjoyable to drive.

These hatchback sports cars were incredibly adept at handling and could take turns easily without slowing down. The 1985 SAAB 900 Turbo 16S GT’s were equipped with a 16 valve head for their turbocharged DOHC.

Additionally, these sports cars could produce a maximum horsepower rating of 160 and a torque rating of 188 pounds per foot. Interestingly the 1984 Saab Turbo 16S GT manual transmission models reached 62 mph in 8.7 seconds, and they had a top speed of 136 mph.

Yet many people have questions about this enigma of a person after watching his heartwarming, entertaining, and laugh-out-loud content. Although not much is known about Bourgeois, there are a few questions that we can answer about him. Continue to learn more about this trainspotting legend.

Where Is Francis Bourgeois From?

Before Bourgeois became a local celebrity, he was a young lad growing up in Harlesden, North West London. While living in Harlesden, his passion for trainspotting was born when his parents began to take him on outings to Willesden Junction. This junction is one of the busiest train stations in London and sees many trains on a daily basis.

Bourgeois and his parents would sit on the platform all day, and he would watch the different types of trains in their magnificence come through Willesden Junction. Bourgeois has fondly stated that according to his parents and from his own memories, he used to draw pictures of the tracks after visiting the station.

When he turned seven, he and his family moved to Frome, located in rural Somerset. Upon entering secondary education, Bourgeois remarked that in order to fit in with the other children, he felt wholly compelled to suppress his avid interest in trains. Yet despite this, years later, he rekindled his trainspotting passion and allowed it to ignite and take on a life of its own.

What Is TikTok Star Francis Bourgeois Famous For?

Francis Bourgeois is a 21-year-old student who attends the University of Nottingham in England. As an Engineering university student, Bourgois has a unique perspective on the workings of trains, including how they are designed and built. His dearest aspiration is to one day become a civil engineer who specializes in railway engineering.

According to The Face, Bourgeois said, “I’d like to go into civil engineering, to create new railways or revitalize older lines.” He also said, “I can’t wait to get started. I hope I spend the rest of my life working on the railways and trying to make them better for everyone.” It’s clear to see that trains truly are his passion, and he’s as genuine as can be about wanting to bring cheer to others.

With a passion for trains and an engineering talent, it’s unsurprising that he has become perhaps the most famous trainspotter in the UK. Many fondly refer to him as “The Train Guy” when seen out and about.

Recently he has confidently stated that trainspotting has been a lifelong dream of his and that he is truly thankful that he can live out his dreams and share his passion with his followers.

Although he is famous for his trainspotting videos on TikTok, he stands out from the rest because of the unique camera angles that he manages to achieve by using a GoPro. Basically, it can be said that Bourgeois is a triple threat whose fame is unlikely to fade into the forgotten abyss where other trainspotters have found themselves. He is charming, humorous, and entertaining, the trifecta in the entertainment industry.

Bourgeois has proved time and time again that he isn’t a one-hit-wonder. Each video he produces is more entertaining than the last, as can be evidenced by his follower count continuously rising. With such an influential online presence, it begs the question, what is he going to do next?

How Many Followers Does He Have?

Francis Bourgois started an account on TikTok during the coronavirus lockdown in England in 2020 as a way to entertain himself and tell others about his passion for trains. In only a few short months, he had begun to build up an impressive social media following on TikTok and his other main social media page, Instagram.

Interestingly the only account he follows is @ryan.windridge, who appears to be a fellow trainspotter and friend. Additionally, Bourgeois has 992,000 followers on Instagram and is expected to soon break through the 1 million mark. Moreover, he also has a Cameo account, but he isn’t taking any new requests at present. When he is taking requests, it’s believed he charges just over $34 for a customized video.

What Is Francis Bourgeois New Worth

At present, it is unknown what Francis Bourgeois’ net worth is. There isn’t a single verifiable claim summarizing his net worth anywhere. However, it is speculated that he is earning money from being an influencer, so it’s highly likely that his earnings will be made known to the public in the near future.

Does He Have a Girlfriend?

Besides sharing his trainspotting videos and working on Cameo, Bourgeois is a very private person. He doesn’t share much about his or his family and friends’ personal lives, so it is unknown if he has a girlfriend. However, we cannot confirm if he is or is not in a relationship, but we can share with you that a girl in his life may or may not be a love interest.

In September 2021, Bourgeois posted a short video to his Instagram, and in this video, a young woman was sitting with him in a cafe. It appeared that they were watching a train come past the cafe’s windows together. Many have speculated that this mystery woman might be his girlfriend because he involved her in his trainspotting hobby.

Unfortunately, Bourgeois hasn’t confirmed or denied if the woman he was out with is his girlfriend, but his fans are holding out hope that he will divulge more details about his personal life soon.

Top 20 Best 70s Sports Cars of All Time https://nextluxury.com/cars-rides/70s-sports-cars/ Sun, 12 Dec 2021 20:00:19 +0000 https://nextluxury.com/?p=254479 …]]> In automotive history, a few of the most radically impressive designs came from the 1970s. As evidenced by the history texts, this era saw the rise of problems related to the oil crisis and emissions control in the automotive industry. Yet, this did not stop many automotive manufacturers from designing and manufacturing legendary classic cars that have managed to maintain their iconic status.

From American muscle to European sports cars, there are likely many 1970s cars you know and love if you are a car enthusiast. Yet, it’s unlikely that you know every iconic 70s sports car to have debuted during this decade. It’s incredibly likely that there are a few lesser-known gems that might have evaded your notice thus far.

We’re going to dive into 20 of the best 70s sports cars of all time. This diverse range of memorable models is likely to have you adding a few more dream cars to your list of vehicles you want to drive before you die.

1. 1970 Porsche 917K

One of the rarest and most memorable 1970s classic sports cars on our list is the 1970 Porsche 917K. According to sources, there were only 12 917K models ever built, and recently one of these rare sports cars was auctioned and fetched an astounding $14,080,000. The model that was sold used to be owned by the late legendary swiss racer Jo Siffert.

The 1970 Porsche 917K is the first sports car designed by Porsche to secure the brand a spectacular outright win at the 24 Hours of Le Man’s in 1970. This had a two-door coupe body style and was believed to have a top speed of 220 mph and to be able to reach 60 mph in approximately three seconds. This was not the norm for vehicles of this decade, and this model can still outpace modern-day sports cars.

Unlike other bulkier classic cars, the 1970 Porsche 917K was incredibly lightweight with an overall weight of 1,763 pounds. Additionally, this 70s sportscar featured Porsche’s first 12 cylinder engine. Early 1970 models had a 4.5-liter engine which was then changed to a 4.9-liter engine and a 5.0-liter engine. Amazingly the 5.0-liter models could produce an incredible horsepower rating of 630 with 434 lb-ft.

2. 1975 Triumph TR7

The 1975 Triumph TR7 is arguably one of the most debated classic cars on our list. Some deem this distinctively designed model to be one of the best British sportscars to appear in the 1970s, while others consider it to be one of the worst. Interestingly, the 1975 Triumph TR7 was code-named the “Bullet” partly because of its radical design, which differed from the more conservative cars that the brand had produced before it.

This vehicle was a two-door coupe that’s wedge design endeared it to many despite the early problems the vehicle experienced. It was equipped with a five-speed manual 3.5-liter V8 engine capable of producing a horsepower rating of 133 and 174 lb-ft. Additionally, this sportscar had a top speed of 135 mph and could reach 0 to 50 miles in an estimated 7.7 seconds.

3. 1970 Porsche 914-6

Did you know that the iconic 1970 Porsche 914-6 was a joint development between Porsche and Volkswagen? Because of this collaboration, many refer to this sports car as the “VW Porsche.”

The 1970 Porsche 914-6 was a nifty car that had a few distinctive features. For example, this model had pop-up headlights, chrome-plated bumpers with round auxiliary headlights, and the roof was made of glass fiber reinforced plastic and was wholly removable.

Curiously this model was only available as a Targa-topped two-seat roadster, but it did have two engine options. At the time of its launch, the 1970 Porsche 914-6 could have a 1.7-liter flat-four engine that was sourced from Volkswagen and could produce a horsepower rating of 80. Or this model could have a 2.0-liter flat-six engine that was also found in the Porsche 911 T, and that was capable of a horsepower rating of 110.

4. 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Spyder

Three masterminds are behind the design and production of the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS, which is also lovingly known by car enthusiasts worldwide as the Daytona Spyder. This model was first introduced at the 1968 Paris Auto Salon, where it instantly gained critical acclaim.

The 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS, a two-door grand tourer, was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina, engineered by Ferrari, and built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti. Interestingly, to this day, Ferrari does not refer to the 365 GTS as the Daytona Spyder, but they do recognize it as the model’s unofficial name.

There were only 1,400 models ever built, and this includes the factory convertibles. Additionally, this model featured in several movies during the 1970s, which is why it is one of the most recognizable Ferrari models.

This sportscar was a front-engined road car equipped with a 4.4-liter four-cam V12 engine capable of producing an impressive horsepower rating of 352. It had a recorded top speed of 170 mph and could reach 60 mph in about five seconds.

5. 1973 Datsun 240z

The 1973 Datsun 240z was the sportscar that started the Z-car legacy. This model remains an important player in the Nissan lineup. Although the style of this car was reminiscent of the Jaguar E-Type, C3 Corvette, and Toyota 2000 GT, it still managed to carve its own stylistic mark.

The Datsun 240z model established a name for itself by winning numerous rally and racing events over the years. Many have noted this car expertly blended incredible handling and reliability, along with impressive speed capabilities. According to sources, there were 231,191 Datsun 240z’s produced in 1973.

The 1974 Lamborghini Countach was also fondly referred to by the name “Periscopio” because of its unique rearview mirror setup. Another distinctive feature that this vehicle possessed was its futuristic scissor doors. When the Lamborghini Countach was debuted, it completely stole the show as nobody had ever seen anything like it because of its futuristic yet luxurious styling.

These high-performance cars were equipped with powerful 3.9-liter V12 engines that were capable of producing a horsepower rating of 375 with 260 lb-ft. Additionally, the 1974 Lamborghini Countach could reach 60 mph in only 5.9 seconds, and it had an incredibly impressive top speed of 181 mph.

Although production of the Miura SV came to an end in 1973, this high-performance 70s car helped change the automotive landscape forever. In fact, many believe it was the 1971 Miura SV that played a key role in the development of technological advances in the supercar sector of the automotive industry.

The 1971 Lamborghini Miura was equipped with a 4.0-liter DOHC 48 valve V12 engine. With this powerful engine equipped, it’s no wonder the model could push out a horsepower rating of 385 at 7,800 rpm. Additionally, this model could reach 60 mph in 5.8 seconds, and it had an impressive top speed of 180 mph.

8. 1975 Ferrari 308 GTB

If you ever had the pleasure of watching the television show Magnum P.I., it’s likely that you know of the 1975 Ferrari 308. Although this sportscar was not as exotic as the Lamborghini models of the 70s, it was far more obtainable. Its role in the television series quickly allowed it to become a fan favorite.

What sets this Ferrari model apart from later year models is that it was built by Carrozzeria Scaglietti and featured a body that was entirely made out of glass-reinforced plastic. Since it was made out of this material, it was incredibly lightweight and had a curb weight of 2,315 pounds.

The Ferrari 308 GTB model was produced from 1975 until 1985, and it is estimated that approximately 12,000 models were manufactured during this time. The 1975 Ferrari 308 GTB had a 3.0-liter V8 mid-mounted engine capable of a horsepower rating of 140.

When they were first released, these cars cost a whopping $28,780, so although they were more obtainable, they still were not affordable to all. Many have claimed that this 308 GTB model is one of the iconic sports cars that everyone wanted to own in the mid-70s.

9. 1979 Mazda RX-7

Were you aware that the Mazda RX-7 models were featured on the Car and Driver magazine “10 Best Cars” list five times? Not only did this model feature in this prestigious magazine five times, but it was also the longest-running model in Mazda’s history.

The 1979 Mazda RX-7 was one of the most affordable sports cars to be manufactured during the 1970s. Not only did it feature an unconventional rotary engine, but it was also incredibly modern compared to its competitors.

Unlike other sports cars released in 1979, the Mazda RX-7 wasn’t as powerful, but that didn’t mean it didn’t have an impressive top speed. According to reports, this model had a top speed of 122 mph which is astounding considering it was only equipped with a 1.0-liter 2-rotor Wankel engine. Additionally, this Japanese sports car could produce a horsepower rating of 100 at 6,000 rpm, and could accelerate to 60 mph in 9.2 seconds.

10. 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring

The 1973 Porsche 911 Carrerra RS 2.7 Touring first debuted at the 1972 Paris Motor Show. This vehicle is often considered to be one of the very best road cars of all time and quite possibly the best 911 ever produced. In fact, many have gone so far as to say it is one of the top 10 best Porches ever built.

Interestingly, the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring was the first production street or race car offered to the public on a large scale by Porsche. The brand specifically built the RS 2.7 Touring on top of the 911S 2.4, which was the fastest standard Porsche at the time. Although it took some time, the US eventually allowed this sports car to be used for purposes other than racing.

It’s undebatable that the Carrera RS 2.7 Touring was an impressive contender at track events partially because of its phenomenal performance capabilities. This model was a five-speed manual-equipped with a 2.6-liter flat-six engine capable of producing a horsepower rating of 210 at 6,500 pm. Additionally, the RS 2.7 Touring had a top speed of 150 mph, and it could amazingly reach 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.

11. 1978 BMW M1

During the 1970s, there was fierce competition between BMW and Porsche in the racing world. BMW wanted to contend with Porsche, so they decided to create the 1978 BMW M1. Initially, the company had partnered with Lamborghini, but BMW took over the reins when their partnership ended when conflicts arose. Upon its completion, this model became the brand’s first mid-engine automobile to be mass-produced.

Although it might be hard to believe, the BMW M1 struggled to find an audience when it was first released despite being one of the most innovative vehicles during the late 70s. Yet, in later years many realized how spectacular this sportscar was, and it became a vehicle many wanted to own.

The 1978 BMW M1 was equipped with a 3.5-liter straight-six engine that came from a BMW Motorsport GmbH. With this engine and in racing trim, this sports car could produce a horsepower rating of 470 at an astounding 9,000 rpm and reach almost 200 mph. When not in racing trim, the 1978 BMW M1 could produce a horsepower rating of 277, reaching a respectable top speed of 162 mph.

12. 1970 Pontiac Trans Am

One of the greatest American muscle classic cars of all time is the 1970 Pontiac Trans Am which is adoringly referred to as the “Pontiac Firebird.” This American car was designed as a pony car to compete with the famed Ford Mustang.

The 1970 Pontiac Trans Am two-door coupe differed from previous models because of its new stylistic elements. It no longer had “coke bottle” styling but instead featured a more sophisticated body shape while maintaining more traditional muscle car elements. There were only approximately 3,196 1970 Pontiac Trans Am models built, and curiously all 1970 models had their radio antennae mounted inside the glass of their windshields.

This impressive muscle pony car had two engine options. The standard option was a Ram Air 6.6-liter 400-CID V-8. This engine could produce a horsepower rating of 345. Only 88 of the 1970 models were manufactured with the Ram Air IV 6.6-liter engine, which could produce a horsepower rating of an incredible 370. The 1970 Pontiac Trans Am “Firebird” could reach a top speed of 155 mph with the standard engine equipped.

13. 1970 Citroën SM

During the muscle car era, one car that is often overlooked is the 1970 Citroen SM. In 1970 this sports car was the fastest front-wheel-drive vehicle. This sports car was a symbol of progressive technology during the 1970s, which is why in 2005, it was placed in 11th position on Automobile Magazine’s prestigious “100 Coolest Cars” list.

The 1970 Citroen SM was exotically powerful because of the companies decision to purchase a controlling interest in Maserati. Since Citroen had this controlling interest in Maserati, they could develop a Maserati developed V6 engine that was much more advanced than its competitors. Why was it more advanced? Well, the engine was actually three-quarters of a supercar motor with all-aluminum quad camshafts.

One point of contention surrounding this vehicle was its controversial styling. Despite it being brought into question many times, no one can deny that it is exceptionally aerodynamic. In fact, the 1970 Citroen SM had better aerodynamic ratings than the much-lauded 1983 Ford Siera. This sports car had a horsepower rating of 181 at 6,250 rpm, and it had a tested top speed of 137 mph and could reach 62 mph in 8.9 seconds.

14. 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400

1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400

publicdomainpictures.net

The 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 is considered to be a rare muscle car not because of its production numbers but because of its four-speed manual transmission. Most Firebirds were equipped with automatic transmissions, which was why the Formula 400 was so revered.

Although this model received less limelight than the Trans Am, it was a favorite amongst those who wanted an American muscle classic car that exhibited quiet strength and incredibly unique styling. For example, the 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 possibly had one of the coolest hood designs to be thought up by the Pontiac design studio.

In addition to the impressive styling, the 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400 had an engine that couldn’t be scoffed at. This model was equipped with a 400 CID V8 engine that generated a horsepower rating of 330 at 4,800 rpm and a torque rating of 430 pounds per foot at 3,000 rpm. Moreover, this beast of a muscle car could reach 60 mph in 6.4 seconds and impressively could complete the quarter-mile in 14.3 seconds.
